I especially like the satirical way he uses, "Would make a great gift," to mean, "If you give this to someone for graduation they'll hate you forever."
at least he's now open about unashamedly promoting his books. i remember when scott feldmeyer, in his very last column,revealed that sykes posted an internet message praising his book on privacy without identifying himself as the writer of the message, thus making it appear that an objective reader was giving the praise. i wrote this same comment on sykes' blog; not surprisingly,it has yet to be printed.
