You've got to believe that it's evil enough to give taxpayer dollars to private businesses that you're willing to march on the Capitol and at the same time believe that the state is evil for not getting in a bidding war and cutting huge incentive checks to private businesses.

It's True For Right Wing Squawkers, Too
Our own grumps, reflecting on the dilemma faced by teabagging right wingers:
Well, Grumpy's wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is STATE and COUNTY employment numbers, along with the rich and opulent bennies offered.
But senescence overcame him a long time ago.
That, again, is what you asked for. Pols would often enhance the bennies like pensions so that there was no immediate tax levies. And since union workers tend to be more forward thinking, they took it.
ReplyDeleteOh, and BTW, I am not eligible for any of those. They stopped offering health care and the enhancers before I started.
Furthermore, actuary reports show that the county will start saving on those pension deals in another seven years. They only hurt because Ament put that clause in there to reward the old timers, like himself. That is why you had the mass exodus in 2004.
I'm not up on the state's bennies, but I don't think they are all that hot. At least not a few years ago, when I last looked into it.
But, hey, if you want to give me a few million dollars in bonuses every year like the private industry gives their honchos, I'll give up all my bennies.
I think Jim is younger than you, daddio. Of course senescence is not your problem, arrogance is.
