He Might Not Know Art...

Patrick McIlheran uses his best bud's witticism to take some pot shots at The Calling, inferring that it should be dropped into Lake Michigan.

Illy-T points out the hypocrisy of Paddy and friends:
So do you think you'll catch Patrick McIlheran or Charlie Sykes or Mark Belling publicly lampooning the aesthetic predilections of their own conservative Republican fellow travelers and popular benefactors?

Me neither.

But this is the journalism that wins awards.
Paddy might not know art, but he knows what he likes.

Fischer: Just Call Me Mr. Hip And Trendy

I was unfortunate enough to catch Fischer filling in for the Bellower a couple times over the last week. It was rather entertaining. Not because Fischer was entertaining, intelligent or thoughtful, but rather because he's none of those things. I couldn't help but chuckle as he would get repeatedly lambasted by the conservative listeners that pointed out how silly his viewpoints truly are.

Another example of his cluelessness, is his post bragging about the fundraiser he emceed for some mystery group. The fund raiser had live entertainment. The opening act was Band X. Then after a short break while they did some other stuff related to the fundraiser, the band the Boogie Men played.

Here's what Fischer wrote:
Band X was sizzling as the opening act. Their opening rendition of Otis Redding’s, “Hard to Handle” was smoking.

The Boogiemen followed with their usual high-quality tribute to the last decade that brought us decent music, the 70’s.

Now despite the fact that there has been lots of great music to come out after the 70's, would someone be kind enough to let Fischer know that Band X and the Boogie Men are the same guys. And just think folks, he's helping shape the laws of this state. Lord have mercy on us.
