Imagine

Charlie Sykes put a post saying how rough he's got it being a talk show host.

Just imagine how rough it would be for him if he had to be honest and tell the truth while he was doing it.

  1. Hell of a lot harder doing a talk show than doing a blog.
I read the post and while you may not like his opinions, you do have to admit it is very hard to do a talk show. Not very many people can do it. First, you need a voice made for radio, then you have come up with a target audience, then entertain that audience. Yes, they are entertainers.
That is why most liberal talk show hosts fail- they can't entertain.

  2. I'm not saying be a talk show host is easy or hard. I am merely pointing out that Sykes is a lying gasbag.

  3. Yes it is very difficult to enjoy the sound of one's voice for 3 1/2 hours a day, every day, for years.
I couldn't do it. I can't help but believe that if Charlie eliminated the partisan posterior smooching, hate spreading, race baiting, hypocritical family values touting, and hypercritical democrat bashing from his presentation, one would suddenly notice plenty of dead air. All that, I guess, comes under the term "entertainment".

  4. This from his post: your comments will need to strike the listener as coming from an actual human being, someone with a real personality and real feelings about whatever it is you're discussing

No wonder he thinks it's hard work.

  5. He's got a nasally voice that would be hard to listen to if he was reading Brewers' box scores, much less the paranoiac Republican worldview he spouts. Couple that with knowing what he looks like, on the inside and the outside, and you don't have much of a product and why he'll never leave this tiny market. He's queen of a poisoned realm, just like the otter-faced wannabe-intellectual McIlheran.

  8. I can just imagine the reaction among the right if I wrote a post explaining how hard it is to be a high school teacher in MPS. I can almost hear Charlie's condescension now ...

Umm been there, done that. Trust me, it is no different than teaching in other places. Every school and school district has it'sproblems and pitfalls and hassles.
Don't play pity card, Jay you are beneath that.

  10. Dan? Do you realize that you just made Jay's point?

Let us never forget that Fistell got his start on WKOW radio in Madison before they went all-country, all-night.

  11. Hey, it IS hard being an angry-man talk show host for 3 1/2 hours a day. You know how hard it is to BS people for that long, especially kissing the a$$ of people you mock in real life?

And manufacturing all that outrage without a hint of a laugh. It's a helluva ol' Chuckles has. Chucking aside your self-pride and respect for others is something only a select few (jag-bags) can do.
