As the header of this site says, we are committed to monitoring of the local right-wing media and exposing their lies, hypocrisies and foibles, so you don't have to.


In that sense, here is what you will hear tomorrow, whether you listen to Charlie Sykes, Vicki McKenna, James T. Harris, Jeff Wagner, Jay Weber, Mark Belling, or any of the other squawkers:


On President Obama's State of the Union address:  He LIED! He's a socialist! His math is fuzzy! His numbers are wrong! He said it before and LIED then too!  He wants to spend more! He wants to tax you into the poor house!  He's a communist! He's not from this country!  He's so pompous! 


On Senator Paul Ryan's rebuttal:  Brilliant! Genius! He nailed it! A rising star!  He really gets it! A TRUE American! God Bless Paul Ryan! Right on!


On Representative Michele Bachmann's rebuttal:


So now, I just gave us all the day off from talk radio tomorrow.  Instead of listening to a Chicken Little squawking, go out and listen to a real bird singing.

Know Them By The Company They Keep

Who is excited by the upcoming Tea Parties?

The Storm Front folks are optimistic.

...estimates are there could be 100's across the country. What's so encouraging is that the organizers and participants are pre-dominantly whites. The remnants of traditional 1950's. Old white America. The historical, traditional population.

Might prove to be signifigant. Might be a meaningless last gasp. Have to see how it plays out. I'm going to take the day off and attend the local one, carrying my Gadsden flag. Encourage others to do the same. Hopefully the beginning of a sense of ethno-centrism.

Spelling

These guys see the tea parties as a logical first step to secession.

Starting a civil war at this time would just defeat everything we are doing. Obama has only been in office a few months. There is already a change going on in that small amount of time. You might not think the tea parties are doing any good, but you will notice they are getting bigger and bigger.

Truth is that the tea parties have become a dumping ground for all sorts of free-floating angst amongst the losers from the last elections. The tax dodge is silly on its surface given that the current administration is looking for a return to tax rates lower than Reagan's.

These GOP influenced, astroturf financed convocations are meant to stir the masses. Nothing more. By this time tomorrow the silliness will have passed and Reince Preibus can go back to preparing for the next GOP soiree in Pewaukee. Paul Ryan can go back to being a footnote to the governance process in Washington and Vicki McKenna can go back to making lame jokes on AM Radio.

Much self-congratulation will be undertaken. Little will have changed. WIN still won't have their ducks in a row. Barack Obama will carry on undoing the travesty of the Bush II presidency. Malkin will declare victory and Beck will still be nuts. Ain't Democracy grand?

It seems like just a month ago Pompador Paulie Ryan was a "rising star" in the GOP. This week he's just the second banana to a third rate radio squawker at a street rally in Madison.

And could someone tell me what Julaine Appling has to do with taxes?

Charlie Can Now Remove the Hook from His Mouth

Ever the booster of the highly vapid Paul Ryan (R -- Brady Bunch), Charlie Sykes dutifully reproduces the chart Ryanl ran in the Wall Street Journal below.

One little problem. The chart is supposedly based on the Congressional Budget Office analysis. The only problem is that the CBO's analysis ends in 2019. Ryan's staff therefore has turned to making crap up.

Now that the GOP has put Ryan front and center is good for us back home. For too long the local media has fawned over Ryan's imagined innovation and gravitas. The national media will be doing the job that should have been done in the Milwaukee metro area a long time ago.

Spoof and Goof: Tools For The Future

Wikipedia has bred dozens of imitators from the moderately useful to the absolutely valueless. To the latter category we can now add Wikiality from the folks who bring you The Colbert Report.

The Wikiality entry for 5th District Rep. F James Sensenbrenner reads in total:

It's an accurate description of Flyin' Jim's proclivity for the pre-paid junket but the more interesting part is the disclaimer at the bottom of the page.

Now, I wouldn't suggest that anyone should go to the site and login to clarify F Jim's storied career nor the many white papers for which he's responsible but I wouldn't not suggest it either.

Teh Funny!

Did anybody else see the humor in the way Paul Ryan opened the McCain "Town hall" rally last Thursday?

Ryan who has been in Washington for 5 terms including stints on the House Budget and Ways and Means committees was bitching about Washington being broken. It's been broken through 7 years of Republican leadership, 7 years of destroying the Clinton budget surpluses and crushing the American Housing and Energy markets.

And who did Ryan bring to the stage after telling us how the leadership in Washington had failed us? He brought to the stage a man who has been in Washington for 26 years, a man that even Republicans have said wasn't a strong enough candidate to be President, a man clueless about the solution, albeit a rehashed one, that Paul Ryan had offered up to make up for the mess they've made in Washington. The best that Paul Ryan had to offer last week was John McCain.

It's almost enough to make you feel bad for Ryan. Almost.

Either Way Works For Us

McIlheran really shouldn't try to argue points by himself. He only paints himself into a corner. This makes it even easier to point out the errors in his ways than it is to do so with McBride. And that's pretty damn easy.

His latest flub comes from trying to say that the Democratic tidal wave that occurred in 2006 was meaningless because the Republicans have been able to obstruct any forward movement offered by the Democrats. You know, real bad things. Like getting out of Iraq. Balancing the budget. Getting health care to needy kids.

He goes on to say it is because the Democrats were "reading the wrong message" when they gained all those seats. He ends his post with this:

They "got the wrong message from the election," our own Rep. Paul Ryan tells Blake. The 2006 result wasn't one of a "repudiation of conservative values," said Ryan. It was a call for "clean and transparent government." Had Dems stuck to centrist positions, they'd have run the place, says Ryan. They didn't.

Gee, I thought the Democrats won because they were sick of the Iraq War and the incompetence of Bush and the Republicans. But if he feels better by insisting it was because the wave was due tot he Republicans being corrupt and sneaky, well, then that is fine by us.
