Happy Anniversary, You Crazy Kids!

While most Americans will be remember the auspicious anniversary of the attack on the Twin Towers in New York City, today is another anniversary without quite the solemness of the more common remembrance.

You see, it was on this date, five years before the terrorist attack, that Charlie Sykes, who was married to Justice Diane Sykes at the time, was caught shooting off fireworks with Janet Riorden, aka Liz Woodhouse, aka Mrs. Sykes III.

And yet Mr. Family Man would try to tell us how to lead a good righteous life...

Who's The Richest Person In Southeastern Wisconsin?

Charlie Sykes is totally devoid of insight. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be pulling such stupid stunts.

A faithful reader pointed out that on Friday, Sykes spent some time criticizing one of his favorite targets, MPS, and their selection of a new superintendent.

The new superintendent, Gregory Thorton, has a "checkered past," according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

One of the points that Sykes kept hammering at was what Thorton said about his wife:
The Hartford Courant editorial also said that Thornton confirmed a report to the district that he had falsely identified his wife to local residents as a Hartford hospital administrator.
Is this something that Sykes thinks is a good talking point?

If so, we have two words for Sykes: Liz Woodhouse*.

So what does this have to do with the richest person in southeastern Wisconsin? Well, obviously the richest person is whoever landed the job of replacing all the broken windows in Sykes' house that he keeps throwing stones through.

*Interesting discovery: The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has apparently deleted all of Tim Cuprisin's pieces on Sykes and Liz Woodhouse (aka Janet Riordan). I wonder why that would be?

Needed: Some Top Shelf Fireworks

I've heard of the blind leading the blind, but this is an example of the lying introducing the lying (emphasis mine):

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin will visit Milwaukee next month for a speech at State Fair Park.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate will speak Nov. 6 at the Wisconsin Exposition Center in West Allis. Tickets cost $30 each and can be purchased online only at www.SarahPalinEvent.com. No tickets will be sold at the door.

The program is scheduled from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Palin's visit is sponsored by Wisconsin Right to Life and will feature Charlie Sykes of WTMJ-AM (620) as master of ceremonies. Palin was Sen. John McCain's running mate in the 2008 presidential election.

Liz Woodhouse better be keeping a close eye.

The best line about this comes from James Rowen:
The cost is $30, and if Palin isn't enough of a draw, Charlie Sykes is the MC.

No word yet if free tea will be provided, if Joe the Plumber will show up or if Balloon Family will handle the flyover.

But you can hope.

9/11 and Charlie Sykes

Last week, leading up to and during 9/11, Sykes was a little edgier than usual. I thought it was simply because of it being President Obama's first 9/11 and the fact that Sykes isn't above gratuitously using that tragic day to try to get some political traction.

But then a faithful reader reminded me that 9/11 held a more personal significance for Charlie.

I'm sure it was also very traumatic for him.

Happy Anniversary
, Charlie.

Happy Belated Anniversary, Charlie!

Brawler reminds us that last Sunday was a very special day for Charlie Sykes (which might also explain why he was off the following Monday):

It was 13 years ago Sunday that Charlie Sykes was busted for shooting off illegal fireworks with woman-not-then-his-wife-but-periodic-radio-guest-under-pseudonym-Liz Woodhouse Janet Riordan.

That wasn't disclosed until the following January, after The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tim Cuprisin had been lying to his listeners about the identity of Woodhouse, er Riordan (and yes, the Brawler apologizes for not honoring this anniversary earlier).

From The Mailbag

A concerned group of readers emailed me a question that they have for Sykes.

They stated that Sykes spent an inordinate amount of time on his show today talking about U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton's latest blunder.

He apparently kept harping on the difference between misspeaking and outright lying.

The group wonders how long Sykes will be allowed to keep up that "type of crap" given his own little bit of misspeaking: Liz Woodhouse.

I don't know how to break it to them, but this is the sort of stuff TMJ wants him to do.

That is why Whallah! is here.
