Christian "Atomic Pantload" Schneider wrote a piece at National Review Online in which he brings up the bogeyman of voter fraud.

I'll try to ignore the fact that he insults every victim of sexual assault in order to try to do his fear and smear routine over a nonexistent problem.

Instead, I'll simply refer the gentle reader to Steve Benen who gives Schneider's amateurish piece of fantasy a proper skewering.

The Brawler and Illy-T also take their turns ripping into him.

What makes me the most surprised is that Schneider's bean didn't explode from the hypocrisy of him, a hack propagandist at the Bradley Foundation-sponsored WPRI (Worms Promoting Republican Ideology) questioning anyone else's credibility.

Sykes' Fraudulent Fraud

Whoo boy! Charlie Sykes was all pumped up on Monday!  He claimed that he found the undeniable, unequivacable proof that the Democrats and Scott Walker recall groups were unethical, fraudulent, minor-bribing degenerates.

Only thing is his proof of fraud was fraudulent.

Jeff Wagner, always fond of doing stories on strippers, is deploring the Common Council for unanimously shooting down a proposed strip club on Old World Third Street. It would have been "an attraction for conventioneers!" it would have been an upgrade over what's already there! It would have "attracted jobs and attracted people." It's decisions like this that turn people against Tom Barrett!(?) Perhaps he should lobby for a Silk to open near his North Shore home.

Charlie The Brave

To Mequon-livin', tassel-loafer-wearin', thrice-married Charlie, this is of course elitism, a big middle finger to his mouth-breathing audience. So in a self styled exercise of speaking truth to power, he blasted Pimental and editor Marty Kaiser (who is conservative -- gotta love Chuck's headgames) and told his listeners that even if it put his job at risk -- Marty's a big wheel, y'know-- he would "give you information you are not going to get from the rest of the media." Indeed, there is "no reason for me to have this job if I don't tell people exactly what I think about this."

It's difficult to tell whether chuck really thinks he is making some kind of principled stand or if he's just playing his audience for rubes. And frankly I can't decide which is more amusing.

Will Sykes Apologize To Shirley Sherrod?

This morning Charlie Sykes joined the rightwing smear effort against Shirley Sherrod. He did it relatively late in his show, at a point when there were questions about the veracity of the video in question. Didn't let that stop him. Now that the full video is out, and it's unequivocally clear that Sherrod was telling a story of overcoming racial prejudice.

Charlie feels that the mainstream media owes Sarah Palin an apology for reporting on remarks made by her once and current future son in law, remarks he has recanted. So clearly Sykes should feel the need to apologize for reporting on a video fragment pushed by an outfit with a record of misleading the public.

Or is he going to double down?

Hypocrisy? From Sykes? Well, color me surprised.

Sykes: A Liar? Gasp!

Amusing. Sykes is ranting and raving about Feingold's "penny pincher" ad. The ad kicks off with Feingold saying he voted against the bank bailout. Sykes says "I'm glad he voted against the bank bailout."

That of course is a big fat lie as Sykes stumped for the passage of TARP and hailed Paul Ryan for voting for it after a protracted Hamlet act.

Given the Pythagorean axiom, "minus one times minus one equals one," maybe if Journal Communications, Inc. had both Sykes* and McIlheran talking at the same time, truth might conceivably result.

* "Charlie Sykes" is actually a stand-alone, all-purpose punchline** in certain quarters, which fact is tremendously comical all of itself.

And back to the Brawler:

This seems fairly obvious to anyone who's ever listened to Charlie Sykes. Yet Charlie, who clearly dearly wishes he was a principled and independent thinker like his old man, as opposed to a thrice married guy who preens as a moralist, would have nothing to do with it. The Brawler recalls, quite clearly, Charlie saying on the radio that yes he receives talking point emails. But you know what he does with them? He puts them in the trash!

Humorously, he read an RPW release , virtually in its entirety, today just after 10:25.

Paddy's Superiority Complex

PaddyMac takes a shining to "The Bell Curve," the racist book written by Ron Johnson's buddy, Charles Murray.

In other words, for Paddy, white makes right and bright.

The Brawler flattens that bell curve.

Let's Have A Real Race

The other day, Brew City Brawler picked up on something from the Charlie Sykes show, in which Neumann called in to take Sykes on yet another attack. From the Brawler:

While on the air, Neumann mentioned he had sent Charlie an email earlier in the week saying he would be happy to debate the issues with Walker on Charlie's show. He would still be happy to do that. Charlie muttered something to the effect of he'd look into it.

So will Charlie facilitate such a debate? Or does he fear that Walker would founder if he actually had to debate Neumann vs. simply calling in with sputtering points?

Xoff picked up on this and said that all the Republican rivals should have debates throughout the state.

I'd say let's have the best of all worlds and revitalize a former idea.

Let them have their debates done several times, but at the WTMJ studio, with it being simultaneously broadcasted around the state, like they do with sporting events.

But lose Sykes, since we know he is just a puppet. Instead, put Xoff On TMJ and let him be the moderator. That way there can be no claims of bias, since he probably dislikes most Republicans equally.

Missing The Bigger Picture

It started when Owen Robinson posted his column regarding the limits of government, which includes this:

Time after time we are seeing the inherent limitations of our federal government. It is not capable of acting to correct our nation’s and world’s ills. It can’t plug the gushing oil well in the gulf. It can’t make companies hire people. It can’t thwart illegal aliens. It can’t create Mideast peace. It’s not a matter of desire; it’s a matter of capability. Our federal government is not God and has a limited capacity to effect change.

These are but a few recent examples of government’s inability to properly manage certain things. It’s not government’s fault. It would never be able to manage such complex events. It is our fault in supposing that our government should manage such events. In fact, wiser people would recognize that such events are properly resolved with creativity, assertiveness, and intelligence which government is naturally incapable of achieving.

This simple inadequacy of government to manage complex events is what makes me fear the coming onslaught of government-run health care. It’s one thing for President Obama to claim responsibility and authority of the BP oil spill as it continues to spew oil into the gulf. It’s quite another thing for President Obama to claim responsibility and authority for grandma’s next chemotherapy treatment.

Government has a role and a purpose, but it is necessarily limited because government can never be as flexible or creative as the private sector in finding solutions. Let us recognize the limits of government and turn to ourselves when adversity presents itself.

PaddyMac is besides himself with glee regarding Owen's post.

The Brawler points out that the government has been responsible for many great things, like reducing poverty among the elderly.

But what all three of these gentlemen miss is the obvious, bigger picture.

Where Owen said that the government will never be as "flexible or creative as the private sector" in fixing things, what they fail to realize or admit is that most often, as with the BP oil spill, it is the private sector that screwed it up so royally that the no one can fix it. It is also the private sector that then turns to the government to clean up their mess.

Who Wants To Help Sykes With His Mortgage?

Apparently not the Brawler:

The funny thing is, Charlie Sykes was crying class warfare earlier this year when the Obama Administration was talking about reducing the mortgage interest deduction for households pulling in more than $250,000. Such an action would crash the market because Chuck's neighbors would have to postpone building a new gazebo in their arbor.

But for Charlie Sykes, it's always about two Americas. His, and everyone else's.

Why He Is An Award Winner

From Brawler:

Patrick McIlheran has a good chortle over this story in the Guardian that says "Obama's docs" recommend "moderation of alcohol intake."

Actually, if you click through to the actual memo -- cleverly hidden on the White House's Web site -- you find the doctors call for him to "continue" moderation of alcohol intake.

It's the kind of mistake you'd expect from somebody who'd only spent two years as a reporter and one a conscientious journalist would seek to correct. Wouldn't hold my breath on that one from Pat.

One of the royal spies has informed me that Paddy is up to win an award in a special ceremony at the Dells. The awarding group are the Teabaggers, who thrive off of this kind of misinformation.

But just the fact that Paddy is up for this award leads to three questions.

1) Will they call it a Baggie or a TeeBee?

2) Will the award look something like this?



3) Will the friendship between Paddy and Charlie Sykes survive Paddy winning a contest and Sykes still remaining nothing more than a nominee?

Not That Being Wrong Has Stopped Him

Illusory Tenant expresses concern that PaddyMac might be running out of topics, since he is always kept being proven wrong.

And of course, it is the Brew City Brawler that is putting PaddyMac in his place.

Sykes Is A Cobag?

The Brawler takes the gloves off for this one:

Charlie Sykes was never a particularly coherent thinker/propagandist -- it's difficult to reconcile being a moralizer with being married three times -- but the cognitive dissonance has been to 11 ever since Obama was elected. Sykes will say on his show he thinks Sarah Palin is over (yet continue to shill for Sarah Palin because that's the goddess of his herd) and he'll say he opposed TARP (even though he adocated it).

In short, Charlie Sykes is a cobag -- he's full of shit and he floods the airwaves with it. A rude comparison, to be sure, but Sykes deserves nothing more.

Weird ... so solid majorities of Americans support policies that are anathema to Sykes' benighted listeners. Will Sykes share that science with his listeners? The Brawler has his doubts, as Charlie's contempt for their intellect (i.e., his refusal to share facts that conflict with their worldview) is well-known.

Charlie Sykes Is Wimpier Than Jimmy Carter

Sykes additionally likes to refer to Jimmy Carter as the worst president of the last 100 years although American fared better economically under the Carter years than they did under George W. bush, who, truly qualifies for the worst in the past 100 years if not EVAR. (Civil War was going to happen, don't Blame Buchanan!). Sykes also likes to call Carter a wimp, though Carter has the distinction, over Sykes, of having served in the military.

WTMJ talker Charlie Sykes once again hailed the howling mob that's been trying to shut down Dem listening sessions. Indeed, while yesterday Sykes tried to distance himself from people who were yelling, today (unless The Brawler missed it) Sykes made no concession to civility. Indeed, Sykes suggested to his benighted listeners that they should not listen to moderate Republicans who suggest that the howling mob showing up at Dem listening sessions makes them look bad.

Funny thing is, the Brawler remembers how disheartened Charlie was when an infinitesmal number of the million people attending Obama's inauguration booed Bush. "You stay classy, libs," Charlie blubbered.

Squawkers and Birthers

Brawler takes on Charlie's misdirection regarding the whole ridiculous birther movement:

You can accuse Charlie Sykes of many things, but you can't accuse him of being burdened by conscience or having a nose for conspiracy theories gone too far.

So naturally Charlie was an early adopter in opposing the birther conspiracy theory (ie, Obama is not a natural born citizen). The Brawler recalls him "standing up for what's right" in this instance before the election, even when callers raised it. And callers have continued to raise it.

And on today's show, Charlie said enough is enough.

But do you know who's fault it is we're hearing about the birthers (Charlie adding that the story's been all over the place the past 7 to 10 days). Not the birthers themselves. It's the fault of the liberal mainstream media who cover the birthers!

Meanwhile, folkbum takes out PaddyMac with just one sentence.

But one shouldn't underestimate the power of these insane birthers. They even have the Kevin "The Brain" Binversie all flummoxed by a simple spoof.

Republican Businessmen Don't Like Doyle

The Brawler has returned from his undisclosed location to tell us this not so breaking news: Republican business men don't like Doyle:

Patrick McIlheran prints, and Charlie Sykes, as ever, retreads, an email from businessman John Radke warning how the Doyleone budget will kill teh jobs in Wisconsin.

Unmentioned: Radke is active in an anti-Doyle Republican front group.

And while Radke hails Indiana's budget surplus, he fails to note that Mitch Daniels has raised sales taxes, cigarette taxes and other taxes have gone up as well.
