Did He Put The Tin Foil Hat On Backwards?

McIlheran tries, and fails, to portray himself as a reasonable person by saying that there is nothing wrong with wishing someone "Happy Holidays." But he fumbles the message by writing:

I know the phrase grates on some, but I say there's nothing wrong with saying "happy holidays!" as long as you have something specific in mind.

I always thought people like him wore the tin foil hat to keep people from controlling their thoughts, not to help them read other people's thoughts. How else would he know what people had in mind when they said something.
